Description
Dwarf. PENNISETUM hybrid ‘Regal Princess™’ PP25517. 3-4′ tall, 2-3′ spread, full sun-part shade, mid-summer-early fall plume. Foliage emerges dark green and darkens to a dark purple-black when exposed to bright light and high heat. Flowering is rare, grown more for foliage. Deer resistant. Zones 7-11. Potted in 3″ pot.
Rarely blooms. Pennisetum prefers to be grown in rich loamy soil with good drainage and full sun or light shade. However, it will grow in rocky or sandy soil as long as it remains fairly moist. This grass resents having ""wet feet"".
