Description

Unique Hybrid Characteristics: Itoh peonies, also known as intersectional peonies, are hybrids between tree peonies and herbaceous peonies. This crossbreeding combines the best traits of both types, resulting in plants with strong stems, vibrant blooms, and the ability to thrive in a wider range of climates. Extended Bloom Time: Unlike traditional herbaceous peonies, which typically have a shorter bloom period, Itoh peonies often have a longer flowering season. This extended bloom time allows for more enjoyment and adds beauty to the garden for a greater part of the year. Sturdy Growth: Itoh peonies are known for their robust, upright growth. Their strong stems mean they don’t require staking. Disease Resistance: These peonies tend to be more resistant to common peony diseases, such as powdery mildew and botrytis blight, making them a lower-maintenance choice for gardeners. Beautiful and Diverse Flowers: Itoh peonies produce large, striking flowers that come in a variety of colors, including yellow, pink, and white. The blooms are often fragrant and can have a single, semi-double or double petal arrangement. Long-Lived: Like other peonies, Itoh peonies are long-lived perennials. They can thrive in a garden for many years with minimal care, providing lasting beauty and value.

Intersectional hybrid. M SD Pink T. Large 6-8", semi-double lavender pink bloom, soften to a lighter pink as flower matures. Carpels are enclosed by a lavender sheath and circled by yellow stamens and red flares at the base. Full sun, zones 3-7. 3-5 eye, bareroot division.
