GAURA l. ‘Whiskers Deep Rose’ PP26399. 14-16″ tall, 12-14″ spread, full sun, early spring-early fall bloom. Airy wands of deep rosy-pink flowers sway in the breeze above burgundy tinted foliage. Long, white stamens give the appearance of whiskers, hence the name. Great filler plant. Attracts butterflies, hummingbirds & is bee friendly. Zones 6-9. Potted in 3″ pot.
Gaura are vase-shaped plants that bloom from late spring until fall. Will thrive in high heat and humidity areas. Will need winter protection in far northern states. Very tolerant of heat and drought. Likes good winter drainage. Deep tap root does not transplant easily - be sure to dig deep if moving Gaura. If needed, prune Gaura in spring to improve overwintering.
