Description
AJUGA r. ‘Mahogany’. 4-6″ tall, 12-14″ spread, full sun-full shade, spring-late spring bloom. Lightly puckered, dark burgundy to black leaves with spikes of bright blue flowers. Leaves turn darker as temperatures lower in the fall. Excellent groundcover for sun or shade. Drought resistant once established. Attracts hummingbirds. Deer resistant. Zones 3-9. Potted in 3″ pot.

Ajuga grows best in partial to full shade but will also grow in full sun if constant moisture is provided. It will tolerate any soil, even poor ones, as long as it is well-drained. Good air circulation is essential to avoid crown rot. Propagate by division any time during the growing season.
