BELAMCANDA c. ‘Hello Yellow’. 18-24″ tall, 8-12″ spread, full sun, late summer-early fall bloom. A profusion of bright yellow, star-shaped flowers are produced above a compact clump of green, sword-shaped foliage. Its foliage is sword-shaped like that of a tall bearded iris. Blackberry Lilies bloom for weeks in late summer, and its season of interest is extended into fall with the interesting seed pods which develop. Attracts butterflies. Zones 4-10. Potted in 3″ pot.
Belamcanda bloom for weeks in late summer, and its season of interest is extended into fall with the interesting seed pods which develop. Tan, pear-shaped pods burst open to reveal clusters of black seeds resembling blackberries, hence the common name. They are persistent thru the winter and are attractive in fresh or dried flower arrangements.
