Description
Warm season. Sorghastrum is a perennial grass which typically occurs in prairies, glades & open woods. Cut back in late winter or early spring to about 4-6″ inches high which is easiest if it is completed before the new season’s foliage emerges. Deadhead after flowering if you are concerned about reseeding in the garden and landscape.

Grass Golden Sunset® Yellow Prairie - Tall. SORGHASTRUM nutans GOLDEN SUNSET® 'MN YG318153' PPAF. 5-6’ tall 2-3’ spread, full sun. Wide, olive-green leaves form a solid base with long golden seedheads rising above the plant in late summer. Wheat-like seedheads reach 10-12" in length and hold their form, adding winter interest. Deer and rabbit resistant. Zones 3-9. Potted in 3" pot.
