Hydrangea arborescens ‘Annabelle’ is old fashioned Hydrangea that has not lost her popularity. Annabelle blooms on new wood, therefore, many gardeners will cut stems to the ground in late winter. New stems will emerge from the base and bloom late spring into fall. Flower heads will dry and turn a pretty shade of brown after frost and will remain most of winter, unless you cut them back. You may also want to dead head spent flowers to promote more blooms. Either way this plant is Gorgeous! Make sure to prune out weak or damaged stems immediately.

Another reason Annabelle is a favorite; Those huge white blooms will not change colors depending on your soil Ph. Blooms may have a slight creme or subtle pink tint.
