CALAMAGROSTIS brachytricha. 3-4′ tall, 3′ spread, full sun-part shade, late summer-early fall bloom. Upright, arching clump of ½” wide, glossy green leaves. Fluffy bottlebrush plumes are purple-red when they first open then age to a green-tan. Beautiful in dried bouquets. Warm season. Zones 4-9. Potted in 3″ pot.

Calamagrostis brachytricha is one of the few ornamental grasses that blooms in partial shade. It’s a beautiful specimen plant and looks stunning in masses where its foliage and plumes are always ready to catch the slightest breeze.
