Korean Feather Reed Grass


CALAMAGROSTIS brachytricha. 3-4′ tall, 3′ spread, full sun-part shade, late summer-early fall bloom. Upright, arching clump of ½” wide, glossy green leaves. Fluffy bottlebrush plumes are purple-red when they first open then age to a green-tan. Beautiful in dried bouquets. Warm season. Zones 4-9. Potted in 3″ pot.

Calamagrostis brachytricha is one of the few ornamental grasses that blooms in partial shade. It’s a beautiful specimen plant and looks stunning in masses where its foliage and plumes are always ready to catch the slightest breeze. It tolerates hot summers and produces pink, feathery blooms on tall stalks.
